This practice was introduced to me through the pages of This Book is Not Required, a "college survival" book by Inge Bell. (Bell was an iconoclastic sociology professor, with a refreshing view of college life and a bent towards Buddhism. I recommend her book to anyone attending, or thinking of attending college.)

  1. Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier than you normally would.
  2. When you wake up, spend that 15 minutes walking around your room, or whatever area you sleep in, as slowly as you possibly can.
  3. The rest of the day, do everything at about 50% speed.

The results of this exercise are quite intriguing, and are best experienced, not explained.
